Italy’s Rigoni di Asiago enters chocolate with Saveurs & Nature acquisition

The family-owned Italian firm said the deal will expand Rigoni di Asiago’s presence in its “most important export market” of France.

Founded in 2001 by Valérie and Jean-Michel Mortreau in Montrèverd, Saveurs & Nature manufactures organic chocolate and bars, cereal pralines and bonbons under its namesake brand. The company, which generates 80% of a EUR12m (US$13.3m) turnover in France, is also developing three new lines with Le chocolats de Pauline, Les chocolats d’Augustin and Ikalia. The firm employs 70 people.
